Enamel sign Hamburg-America Line, flat, enameling very raised stenciled and lithographed. High gloss, almost scratch-free. Incredibly atmospheric design in vibrant colors - the way the waves on the bow of the ship have been rendered in an almost expressionist style with strong color contrasts is very impressive. Marked: Poster factory Boos & Hahn, Offenburg (Baden). The Boos & Hahn enameling factory was based in Offenburg between 1917 and 1921. The slight damage in the black border area has been somewhat soothed, otherwise no restorations or embellishments, condition 1-, dimensions: 74.5 cm x 49.5 cm. I have never seen the sign in such a fascinating shine before, this is one of the best of only a few known examples, you simply have to see it live.
